Technology

We strive to keep up with the latest technology available and our services are also fully BIM integrated. In doing this we give our clients peace of mind knowing we utilise the latest software available to provide precise and accurate services in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Building Information Modelling (BIM)

BIM is a process for creating and managing information on a construction project throughout its whole life cycle.

As part of this process, a coordinated digital description of every aspect of the built asset is developed. This includes a combination of information-rich 3D models and associated structured data.

Benefits of BIM from a cost perspective include:

  • Fast, reliable and accurate quantity take-off and cost estimation.
  • Auto computation of calculations, hence reduced calculation errors.
  • Categorised cost reporting and estimation via the use of zones/locations.
  • Improved visualisation of the elements for measurement and costing purposes.
  • Enhanced communication and collaboration amongst the professional and project team.

Testimonials

Robyn and Sean Thompson – Sheffield Beach

When my husband and I first embarked on the journey of building our dream home we knew that quantity surveying was a profession but were ignorant as to the value that their services would provide.  The sound of building your home is rather romantic, but once plans are finalised and engineers drawings complete, the hard work starts, COSTING.  Justin de Neef from Edgecombe & Hayes-Hill provided us with the guidance and advice that we so desperately needed.  The attention he gave to every small detail of the build and proposed finishes was astounding.  Justin and his Director Ian Hayes-Hill took a personal interest in our build and in the costing thereof, providing us with the different costs and various options available from a number of different suppliers and sub-contractors.  They ultimately produced a final bill of quantities that up till this point in the build is near perfection, true to actual costs incurred with allowance for possible overruns that building is renowned for.

Going above and beyond the scope of work was no trouble to Justin and Ian.  They assisted us with the tender process and guided us through the selection of a contractor who would not only match our budget but also our project requests.  Justin and Ian not only provided a comprehensive, detailed accurate Bill of Quantities, they were also invaluable in terms of suggestions made for sub-contractors and suppliers.

We cannot speak more highly of the professional, personal service they give.
